DCxUSA: THE REMIX THAT TOOK FRICKEN A YEAR TO SURFACE IS FINALLY A REALITY

30 Oct , 2016

You may remember that around a year ago, HARD Presents boss Destructo dropped this spanker of a bass-house tune called “Techno” with the hook line of “nobody listens to techno” – a homage of sorts to the Eminem classic “Without Me”.

Well LA-local Dr Fresch took his fricken’ time working on this one, because fast-forward a year and he’s released a free-download with his take on the tune. He’s given it a booster-shot of bassline and chopped in some anthemic sing-a-long lyrics, transforming this track from a damn great club record, to an ultimate floor filler.

Speaking on the remix, the good doctor said that he has “been in love with Destructo’s ‘Techno’ since the first time I heard it – I think midtempo electro and deeper indie dance are taking off, and I wanted to give the original my own rework. I liked how Destructo grabbed the sample from Eminem’s ‘Without Me’, and decided to use more of that sample to build the song around. I kept the tempo at 112BPM, but decided to get more complex and weird with my bass arrangement – I hope my Fresch Fam love this remix as much as I do!

BONUS FACT: today is Dr Fresch’s birthday, so yeah, happy birthday Doc.

Ya boi Dr Fresch was just in the country a week or so ago. He’s not now, but if you went to the shows I’m sure they were lit.

Destructo will be in Australia for the HARD Australia festival in December – deets here bruh.
