By it’s very nature, the name Harry Fox doesn’t instantly strike as being a memorable name, somewhat commonplace or tame. Don’t fall into that trap though.
Harry Fox is a name you’re gonna wanna remember.
Until recently, Brisbane based Harry Fox has been an enigma, hidden in the liner notes of local dance and hip-hop production. Determined to step into a spotlight of his own, Fox has just independantly released his debut single, “All For It” feat. fellow Brisbanite Donny Casper.
Off the back of his remix of Midas.Gold’s ‘$$$’, an epic mix filled with trap influences and punchy bass anthems, ‘All For It feat. Donny Casper’ is a certified floor filler. Similar to the likes of Baauer and RL Grime, the track’s dirty trap beats swing between filthy and fire. There’s also like this tiny taste of turn-of-the-decade (2010 ish) pre-EDM electro influence sitting just below the surface of this track which I am all about.
In a bit of a weird coincidence, the vocals from Donny Casper were never initially intended for this track, with Harry elaborating “I started work on the instrumental for this track, and remembered I had some vocals from Donny for an old, unfinished project. I chucked them into the new project on a whim and they fit incredibly well, taking the whole track to another level. Considering the vocals were recorded for another song I was stoked with how wicked and wonky it all turned out.”
Oh, and you know Birds Of Tokyo? The alt-rock giants that took out the coveted #100 place in the Hottest 100 this year? We have it on pretty good authority that he’s been working officially with them on something pretty special, still to be announced for 2017. Large.
