Rolling off the back of an enviable year, Melbourne future bass producer Johnny Third spent a good chunk of his year getting around the country with his buzz-worthy live show. 2016 saw Johnny snag the support slot for Black Tiger Sex Machine on their national tour and a Summer tour that ended with a massive performance at Earthcore in Melbourne.
Today sees him release his biggest track today; an upbeat bass-pop track called ‘Quick Love’, ready-made for radio consumption.
In a growing trend, it sees the producer come out of his shell musically and showcase his own vocal abilities. It harks a likeness to countless contemporaries in the ‘producer turn vocalist’ realm such as Alison Wonderland, Sable, Nina Las Vegas and most recently that newbie from Elk Road. Within the first few moments of the track however, it becomes instantly apparent that this was always the plan for Third. His vocal is a clear-cut pop standout with chops to rival those sitting atop the worldwide music charts.
Not content with just nailing the vocal aspect of this track, Johnny has also produced an earworm of a trackbed. It sits pretty clearly in that dance-pop world that Major Lazer, Diplo or Martin Garrix have been pushing comfortably, but manages to draw in some influences from future-bass, electro and bass house.
Johnny Third has already proven to be an ambitious force in this industry and this is clearly only just the beginning for him.
