OUR TOP 7 COLLABORATIONS FROM 2016… SO FAR!

1 May , 2016

Well, we’re officially over a third of the way through 2016. I know, I know, where did all that time go? Well it seems at least a handful of artists have been busy in the studio together, as we’ve already been gifted with some pretty special collaborative tunes already this year.

Chase & Status + Slaves

A lot of people criticised Chase & Status for this release, claiming that it was a cheap knock-of of The Prodigy’s trademark sound. Without prior knowledge about Slaves and how they’ve been killing it over the last 12 months with their LP “Are You Satisfied?“, it’s easy conclusion to jump to, but as a fan of both artists in their own right I can safely say there’s room enough for two in this game.

Paces + Guy Sebastian

Anyone who still claims that Shannon Noll was robbed in 2003 needs to get a grip. As an unashamed #TeamGuy supporter, this was a pretty pleasant surprise when the track listing for Paces debut album was first announced. Certainly not a collaboration that anyone expected, but after a couple listens there can be no doubts that Guy Sebastian was the right man to work with on this one.

What So Not + Ganz + JOY.

Emoh and Emoh alone is at the creative helm of What So Not these days and with the the internet still abuzz from his RÜFÜS remix, he backed things up quick-smart with his first original track since the former duo split. Joining forces with one of Australia’s favourite Netherlandish producers, GANZ, and rising vocal star, JOY., the final result is a catchy future bass gem with pop nuances, a trend perfected by acts like Major Lazer or Disclosure.
